Standing water can lead to root rot the growth of mould, fungi or other unfavourable micro-organisms. There are special grooves in the bottom of the flowerpot which easily drain water to the outside. The pentagonal shape of the pot allows for easy cutting of protruding roots which has a visual aspect but additionally stimulates their growth. The pot can be used for above-ground cultivation as well as buried in the ground which will ensure that the seedling takes up valuable minerals and nutrients straight from the soil indefinitely. In addition the plant’s thin roots can escape outside the pot thanks to small holes in the walls. The raised bottom of the pot provides aeration from below, which is important for standard cultivation.

Production bowls differ from traditional production pots in their design. They get their name from the fact that they resemble a bowl in appearance. Chrysanthemum bowls are suitable for growing bulbous or root crops whose roots develop laterally and whose root system is situated quite shallowly.
